I'm building a house. How many inspections should I consider getting? Ideally, you're going to get an inspection at each stage. Okay, so that's five inspections. Generally, you're going to have a payment at each stage. Before you make that payment to the bank or to the builder, you want to make sure that that stage has been completed correctly. So, you're looking at your floor slab, your walls, your roof, your lockup. That's when the building is fully sealed. And then your
PCI or your practical completion inspection. Yeah, that one's at the end when the house should be ready to be lived in. you can expect probably 10 or 15 um small defects should be available at that stage. Getting it along the way means if they're picked up early, they can be easily rectified before we go on to the next stage. If rooms have been set out wrong and your roof is already in place to remove internal walls and things, it becomes a really major uh issue then to rectify it at that stage.
Wherever it's picked up early, rectified quite quickly, doesn't really delay your bill too
